Cheap functional popper storage.
November 17, 2008, 01:55:05 PM
I'm very keen on the Hammerhead popper storage bags and will eventually grab 1.....or 2, but prior to an O/S trip next month I have to sacrifice a few luxuries and came up with this as an alternative.

Has a 2 inch deep rubber base which will provide some water protection on the self draining deck and internal pockets for quite a few poppers. (If I loose more than that in a day I'm in trouble). Gloves, spools, terminals etc loose inside.
Has a shoulder strap and external pockets.
Only problem is the rubber base has a strong rubber stench so i hope it doesnt permiate my poppers and with salt and sun it'll probably last one trip and its a bit hard to rinse but for $20 at the hardware shop I'll give it a go.

Hi Darren. I just use a plastic tool box. Punched a couple of holes in it for easy drainage as after allmy trips I run the fresh water hose into the box and let it sit there till all the lures are thoroughly rinsed. I also spray WD40 or equivalent liberally over all the lures once the water has drained and believe me the fish do not seem to mind the WD40 smell one bit. Last week I had a 20kg fish on my second cast and 6 more within the hour.

Bugatti seems like a long way but we'll be there before you know it. Remember how we all thought Marion was a long way away?

I'll be in NZ in 5 1/2 weeks, not jigging but going to try for KIngs off the stones on poppers and pencils, I'm on a mission ;)
Oh I forgot to mention I want one on fly Too :P

Darren... good stuff with the bag mate, I would spray the whole thing liberally with that can of Innox, I allways give my plier pouches etc a real good soaking before they see the salt, come to think of it I spray EVERYTHING with Innox

a little bit off-topic but for you guys coming to Bugatti, a fully waterproof fishing bag is really useful
