Jigging Workshop
March 10, 2009, 09:21:15 PM
This month we are very excited to have two of Japan?s top exponents of vertical jigging in the store.

Yasushi Kawahara and Taro Kitamura are pro-staffers for Yamashita and they are here in Australia to promote Japanese style jigging techniques.

The main areas they will be talking about is the use of light to medium weight jigs and tackle for targeting kingfish, amberjack, snapper and other species on close offshore reefs. This area of jigging is massively popular in Japan and is also gaining in popularity here in Australia as anglers learn that there is much more to jigging than busting a gut with 80lb tackle and 300-400g jigs.

The seminar is on Tuesday the 17th of March at 6.30pm and will be held in the Fish Head store,  located at Victoria Point (east of Brisbane by the bay). It is not every day we get these sorts of opportunities to learn these Japanese techniques first hand here in Australia so we are looking forward to the night.

Drinks and nibblies will be provided.  The seminar is free but places are limited so please RSVP to the store on 07 3207 9965 or via email to [email protected] before Saturday 14th of March.

Everyone attending will go into the draw to win a Maria jigging rod and other great prizes.

Look forward to seeing you all there,

Cheers,

Janelle

Andrew, you could knock off work at 4pm - which is 3pm our time.  Jump on a plane and Bun can pick you up on the way through.  He could drop you off on the way back, catch the last flight back or stay the night and then catch the first flight and you would be back to work before any one knew.  Trust me - I know it can be done   ;)

But.........we will try to record it anyway.  It is a pretty full house so hopefully we will be able to get it all to work.

Cheers,

Duncan,

How did the jigging go with the Japanese on the water? Also how did the worksop go?
