River 2 Sea - Rover 230

Putting the last touches to my collection of gear for the Montebellos in September this year. Has anybody had any experiences with these lures as they seem reasonable for their price

Thanks

Les

I have used them once in New Cal but never had much Success, water needs to be pretty flat as there a large walk the dog style!!

Not realy a big fan of them, maybe someone will help you if they have caught fishys on them!! ;)

Just came back from Poindimie on the north east coast of New Cal.  1st day it was glassy calm- we got 6 GT's up to 52kg on the River2Sea Rover.  My fishing companion was getting all the action on them as I was hammering away using big poppers etc.  In the end with him on 4 fish and me with zero, something had to change...

I attached one of these and within 4 casts I got my first GT (15kg) and half an hour followed it up with approx 40kg GT.

Upgrade the hooks with ST76's and they are a great stealthy surface lure, and so easy to use!

Under those conditions, they were superb.  :)

Cheers Dave

I bought a couple the other day and they looked good in the swimming pool, I agree they would need flat water ...Neighbours still think I'm nuts as I am frequently fishing in the pool. they could forgive me for trying small soft plastics....but GT poppers?

I have one and it only touched the water in one session, really didnt like it although I was using a gt special rod so maybe a slower rod would be more suitable. I think if it had more weight in the nose to get it just subsurface it would perform better. Then again maybe I was doing it all wrong :D
