Simon,

before i start i just want to make it clear that i am no pro or expert.

I have tried and used YGK Ultra Jigman which was a few year's a go and i still have and use it now,  from memory i got it in 60 pound as when i got it that was one of the lightest i found it in at the time of purchase.

I like it as a jigging braid and i do believe in my true and honest opinion that it is a good line apart from the fact that there are many other braid's out there as i am very, very sure you yourself and everyone else is well aware of.

since i have had and used it,  there has been absolutely no issue's with it (the YGK Ultra Jigman) what so ever and i am happy with the choice i made.  Having that being said as i am very sure yourself and everyone else know's that what one person like's e.g=a line or lure,  another one may not like or may or may not have problem's or issue's with.   As i have now got YGK i am considering my-self on getting a spool of either Varivas Max Power   or   Big One.  I have not decided yet on which one i am going to get.

to be honest with you again,    I was considering when i bought the YGK which one to get out of the Varivas or the YGK but the shop i bought the YGK from did not have the Varivas however if i did decide on going with the Varivas instead of the YGK,  I was going to place an order on-line.

I hope this is or may be of help or assistance to you with making your choice on which braid to get.

Brandon,

If I read between the lines correctly I should be buying the cheapest one as the only difference will be the colouring........

Thanks for your comments guys.

Cheers,
Simon

yes Simon, at least from me, that would be my suggestion
I wouldn't go as far as to say the lines are identical but they're very close.

There are more than one type of YGK Jigman the YGK Galis ULTRA Jigman X8 would be equivalent to the Varivas BIG ONE or PE TUNA and should be very close in price. The cheaper YGK Jigman would be equivalent to VARIVAS 10x10 Fune which is currently not imported into Australia. Check Fish Head's line pricing he sponsors this site.

Some further info
Dyneema manufacturing
There are 2 factories, one in Europe and one in Japan.
A factory in the USA makes the same material but it is referred
to as Spectra.

In Japan now there are various 'grades' of Dyneema, with the new
"Ultra Dyneema" being even thinner and stronger - and of course
more expensive. Examples of this are new Avani Sea Bass Max
Power,  Avani Super Max Power GT SMP, Big One Max Power, etc.

A major factor in the high price of Dyneema lines is the actual
'braiding' process.
