Although I have used the rods in question I feel there will be other members that give you a more qualified opinion.

Mark, fishing from a kayak is a completely different kettle of fish (if you'll pardon the pun)  :D
We have a few keen kayak fishermen on this forum but if they don't see this post, you might want to PM them. Both David Clumpner and Sam Beeby are keen kayak fishermen who would be better experienced to respond to your question than most.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Thanks, I will contact them about kayak fishing.

After some research, I'm confident that either the KGS 68M or the KGS 70MH will be suitable for the kayak. However, I'm still not sure which will be a better match with poppers and plugs in the 28-42 gram range. Which would offer better casting distance with that lure range? Would the tip on the KGS 68M be too soft for working the poppers in that range?
