Reel bag

Hi,

Anyone know where I can find a bag, the flat style to store reels at home like the dogfight etc in? Not looking for a travel bag, just something for home to keep them out of the way.

Hi Andrew,

Are you looking for something with a hard case or is a soft case suitable for what you want?

We have a case that is soft sided, with dividers inside.  You zip it up.  We use them for storing fly reels but have customers that use them for storing spin reels.  Will stick a dogfight in it tomorrow and see how many reels will fit.

Here is the pic of the Falcon case with a couple of reels inside. There are plenty of dividers so you can keep the handles separate to the reels. They are priced at $32.95

G'day Janelle, how suitable would this bag be for travelling? Or do you have any other options that are more suitable for taking on trips? When I went to Bugatti I had all my reels stored in their neoprene pouches and then packed into a soft sports bag and one of my stellas bail was damaged in transit.

Hi Jay,

The bag is padded but potentially can still get squashed, as can many of the camera bags.  If I was travelling I would still pack pack the reel bag close to the center of my suitcase/bag with clothes around it.  Handy once you get there because you just pull it out and the reels are together and you can carry them around with you.

If you are looking for something bullet proof and hard that can get bashed around this is not the case.  A pelican case is brilliant (you can even jack a car up with them -ask Duncan to tell you that story) but the weight factor then comes in to play.  Generally the more rigid they get the more the weight increases.
