G,day guys ive got the old 8000fa stella and im thinking of getting the new 8000sw is it the same size and line capacity thanks Woz

Yes and yes, you've also got the option of getting it in high speed and low speed now though.

And you can get a 10,000 sized spool as well if you want a bit more line capacity.

Yes, they downsized it when they brought out the SW's.

My understanding is that whilst the 10kSW is physically smaller than the 10kFA they have the same line capacity.

Simon, the new SW has less line capacity than the older FA, you'll get 300m PE5 and 250 m approx. PE6 on the 10K spool. Very nice reel though it handles big fish.
