Stella 10000 SW
Mark Gwynne:
The Australian catalogue (which doesn't sell the TP 12K) states they have the same Hyper disc drag. I would say the kilo less drag for the 12000 TP is due to the larger spool, similar to why the stella 10000 has 2 kilos of drag less than the stella 8000. The stella 8 and 10 K are the same apart from spool size so to me this is all it comes down to. I have noticed the twinpower 10000 also says 22 kilos of drag but they do say it's the same one.
Might be worth a phone call to Dunphy sports.....
Mark Harris:
I guess it would be good to get the definitive answer on this. I have dropped an email to Shimano Singapore...... don't hold your breath for the answer ::).
Les Maunder:
I have a Stella SW 8000 and a Twinpower 10000 SW-A (all purchased in Australia) and the spools are interchangeable as are the drag knobs. They both have the Hyper Disk Drag (not twin) but the capacity of the twinpower spool is higher - I assume it is all to do with the centre arbour but I can't tell as both spools are filled with line.
JDM have a compatibility chart for the SOM No limits spools and state the the SOM NL 8000 and 16000 spools will fit both the Stella sw 8000, SW 10000 and Twinpower SW 8000 and 12000.
Cheers
Les
