Bligh Reef guides report 2 October 2010

Damon: Another great days fishing. We trolled most of the morning and caught so many Spanish mackerel it was just crazy. I had to drive away from them at one stage to rerig. They were all between 10-20kgs, and great fun. We hooked a few doggies and lost them, and also had a few GTs hooked up on the troll.
We cast poppers just before lunch and got a heap of trout and red bass along the edge, as well as 3 GTs between 10-18kg, but we were not really targeting GTs. Lunch back on Odyssey was fresh grilled Spanish mackerel, and this was a highlight of the day!! The afternoon was amazing as well with great light tackle action and about 5 GTs landed with the best a 22kg model.
The boys went for a dive and a swim and the fish life underwater is simply astonishing. All up a great day with some red hot action at times and a bit of relaxation for the boys as well. Can't wait for tomorrow...
