How about the El Toro 150? Should be a nice rod. If you can find the older Bali special, might be a good choice for stickbaits thou.

LOL, thought I had it figured out but new rods are popping up everywhere! Can anyone steer me towards a El Toro 150 in Australia? Will it handle both srtickbaits and poppers like the MH will? I have only read 1 review and it described the rod as a broomstick... is this ideal? Can someone PM me the price?

It certainly is not a broomstick!

This is a mid-price rod that performs very well Ben.  The current one is El Toro 150 version 2 and I cast a prototype back in November. I own a version 1 of the same rod.  The Australian stockist is Gara Pro Shop: http://www.gtpopping.com/forum/index.php?topic=3325.0.

Ben, Im using the 180 now, so cant really comment on the 150 but i think it will suit what you need.

Speak to Luke, he can hook you up with one.

Looks like my mind has been changed, after much deliberation (and actually locating said stick) I have decided on the Carpenter DJ83MH as my allround rod for poppers and stickbaits.

Now I have two months to get fit enough to fish the thing for three days straight.... off to the gym!
