I've fished the 83MH. It's an excellent stickbait rod. With the extra length, it really can cast a mile.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

hi Brandon,

In your view, how do u think this rod(83MH) will perform against the EP 85/36?
Thanks.

Gees, I really had to think about this one. You're not going to go too far wrong with either rod, Kelvin. I think in a comparison, the 83MH has a slightly softer tip. Action on both rods is similar, power is very similar. I think my suggestion is that if I was thinking only stickbaits, I'd go the 83MH. If I wanted a rod that will chug some small to just under mid-sized poppers, I'd go the EP85.

A friend of mine bought this rod in Singapore.
I have not got the chance to test it yet?
Sifus, can RF Ultimo be compare with Carpenter TBL 711/35RF?

Many Thanks.

Hi Brandon, while where on topic of these 2 rods may i ask, how would the slightly softer tip on the 83MH compare to the Carpenter BLC 83/40 max? Which in your experience would you regard "softer"?

IMHO, both tips are approximately the same, but the power on the low down is different. I feel that 82MH (not 83MH) is slightly stiffer but still very comfortable. Both are excellent rod to have around.

I don't think there is any comparison - the BLC has a significantly softer tip.
