New Stella 10000/20000?

<< < (2/19) > >>

Zeck Lim:
If Daiwa does not come up with a lighter Saltiga, I am going Shimano....

Thats a beaut! Thanks for sharing...

Hon-Su Chin:
The Saltigas are lighter than the current Stellas.

David Sharples:
The new Stella SW is on the Plat site along with the Twinpower. Looks awesome. Anyone planning on trying to save money in 2008 may as well give up now!

Andrew Woodley-Page:
Any idea as to whether existing 10000 & 20000 spools will fit the new model?
(Brandon, please don't roll your eyes at me!  ;D  ::) )

--- Quote from: Greg Burt on January 23, 2008, 08:55:44 AM ---These pics are reported to be of the new Stella, a few changes with a thinner body making it lighter. The spool has a new longer angled lip for better better casts with less friction and the bail arm is shorter and thicker. Internally it still has the brass pinion gear and an aluminium alloy main gear. The main gear is surface treated with a plating process to make it stay smooth for longer. They choose smoothness over strengh. The reel is waterproof, has carbon and felt drag washers, worm shaft line lay, new stable spool system, and will be released first as a high ratio model for popping.

Brandon Khoo:
Andrew, I personally hope they do but I sincerely doubt if that will be the case. It looks like a longer spool to me.
