Re: New Stella 10000/20000?

Everything else aside I noticed a significant price hike. 110K Yen for a 10000 has to be around $1030 USD which is a couple of hundred more than what the current SW used to go for.
I suppose that won't matter much if the quality is up there. Another one to save up for.
Anyone got any ideas on what Daiwas response maybe?
Not too fussed about Accurate as from Fiji I can get good access to Shimano for servicing.

well IMO they are worth the money becoz of the amount of technology and engineering put into them. The old SW and FA have been out for quite a while and therefore prices have dropped significantly. Whereas the Saltigas have been pricier than the Stellas in Aus due to the lack of competitive pricing in Aus. Team Daiwa dealers are few and far apart enough to discourage price comparison.

Is any of the new parts interchangeable with the old stellas?? I like the new carbon fibre knob.

Mass manufacturing hasn't finished yet - not for a few months still.

Nope, not interchangable with the old and the carbon knobs are only for the small sizes

It'll be interesting to see who goes for the 10000XG or 18000HG for GT popping. What's your thoughts?

I have been wondering the exact same thing. i have a 10000fa but if i was to upgrade i would almost have to go a 10000 again due to the fact of how little it weighs and it should get an ample amount of 100lb on it(just).

How much 100lb do you fit on the 10000 spool Randy?? I was thinking along the same lines, the 10000XG at 625g is lighter than my 8000FA, which would make popping all day a lot much easier... I'd be interested to to know how they manage to make the 10000XG/PG 200g lighter than the 18000HG and 20000PG.

Ok.........so the info is out, they're preselling at retail, I have drooled over my 2008 Jap catalogues.......

who can read Japanese or can tell me otherwise as to whether the 20000 spool will fit the 10000XG?
does the new 10000XG come with a larger spare spool as per the SW model?   ??? ??? ???
