I have never used poppers on a BLC but I suspect that an 80g popper would probably be ok on the BLC83/40. Based on what Dan has written about the 80/35, this sounds about right.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Quite happy using Hammerhead sharapoas on the BLC 83/21 here in NZ , have a mate who has used the BLC83/40 with larger 80g + poppers BUT  they are really made to swim stickbaits .

hi guyz...firstly wishing everyone merry xmas n happy new year...have a question concerning tbl 83/32 vs tbl 711/35.. both seems to share the same rating of max lure 170g and there seems alot different in wt between the 2 rods..could it be of different carbon content....would assume 711/35 be the stronger version..can someone shed some light..thanks

I will be surprised if Brandon does not have both :) .

Just from the rating the 711/35 will be the heavier rod and stronger down low.  With the same max lure rating I would assume the tips are similar.

Hello,
I have question regarding the Carpenter Gamma GT-y 160 Diablo and Carpenter Gamma GT-y 160H.  What is the difference between the two?  Is it just the slight difference in weight and finish?  Thanks

Yes Robert, it's just a 5 grams difference in weight and the Diablo is claimed to have more action due to less finished material on it.

Hi Peter,

TBL 711/35 is temporary out of production. You will find no problem to use Gamma 140 on TBL 83/32 or if you like to fish with heavier line then TBL 80/40 will the choice for now.

Cheers,
Tak

Hi Robert,

Gamma 160H has different balance and action compare to normal 160 so please think it as different lure. 160 Diablo is action specific version of normal 160.

Cheers,
Tak

Hi Cliff,

I'm not sure what purpose you are looking for the rod but all BC rods will be unlikely to be produced in near future for several reasons.

You may find suitable rod in BLC range. Please see spec on below link.
