Got offshore to toss my latest lure at some BFT, but the tuna were not showing us any love. Luckily on both afternoons we managed to get into some 7 to 8 kilo Buri (Seriola quinqueradiata) near the shore line. We made multiple catches on G2, and Titan pencils when they surfaced to feed, but also by pinpoint casting near exposed rocks. Buri are smaller and more pelagic than kingfish, but will hug shallow reefs for limited periods of time. Hopefully the black current will send some large concentrations of bait to us soon and we'll have some tuna to chase.
