Carpenter Rod Trial Day!
September 30, 2011, 03:40:07 PM
Hi all,

We are having Carpenter rod trial day on October 23rd (Sunday) in Brisbane.

This will be outside activity (as long as weather permits) and what we are aiming for this day is to provide range of rods for people to cast and feel and understand Carpenter products more. (lures and reels will be BYO)

We will have Kenji Konishi san with us so that you will have a opportunity to ask him questions and advises directly (I'll be translator for you).

There will be no cost to attend this event and soft drink will be provided.

Please register your interest to join us by email ([email protected]).

Please note - unfortunately spots will be limited and our network customers will be prioritised for this event if we have more than manageable numbers.

Please feel free to PM / email me for further questions.

Cheers,
Tak

Not sometime soon unfortunately. This day was the only spare day for us and we have chosen Brisbane because of number of GT angler there.

It will be great to see some of keen people from interstate there.

Andrew you know you want to do it - come up and spend the day.  Flights are dirt cheap from Sydney.  If there are a few people and you can all get organised on the same flight I will come out and pick you up from the airport.

I know Janelle, cheaper than the lures. Just the date is a bit of a bugger. Will see what I can do.....

If only I knew about this sooner otherwise I would have come back from New Caledonia via Brisbane instead of Sydney  >:( I leave Noumea on the 23rd.

Hi Andrew,

Waiting on Fukui-San to confirm his schedule for next year. He is supposed to come fishing with me early next year and we will hold a seminar to showcase his experience and expertise in Sydney.

That's great Luke.

I'll work with Konishi san in the next few days what rod we can bring for this day but I think we will have good range of newer GT and Kingfish rods.

Hi Darren,

There are still a few places left.  We are leaving from Fish Head at 2.30pm and then heading to the water from there.  We will wait till the day to decide on the exact location so we can see what the wind is doing (Fish Head is close to the water so it will only be a couple of minutes drive from there).

You need to bring a reel and whatever lures you want to cast.  Konishi san, Tak and Fish Head will provide rods for people to cast.  Bring shoes that you are prepared to get wet as we will probably walk out onto the flats a bit to cast and then as the tide comes in we will move back to the rock walls.

It is really going to be an amazing day.  It is not often you get to learn and observe a fisherman of Konishi's calibre in such a way.

As Brandon says PM Tak or Fish Head if you want to come along.

Cheers,

Janelle

Any chance of "video-ing" the event and upload it in you tube?
Really interest on how Konishi-san cast and played with Gamma and other lures.
Konishi-san is heading for LPB after this event?

many thanks

Wan if it isn't videoed, carpenter have a dvd out with demos of how each popper and gamma's are worked.
Not in english but pretty easy to interpret. Features some of the earlier rods as well- not the new range.
