It looks like a BLC (?) but if the Endless Passion on board was one of the lighter ones, it might be that. The rod is at its absolute limit I would say.

Extraordinary to hear that not 1 but 2 MC Works jigging rods were broken by such experienced anglers.  That casting rod looks very close to the same fate as well.

Great to see fine tackle being pushed to it's limits, those rod bends are scarey.

Thanks for that Sami i was thinking it might have been a different species as it seems to have a different shaped pectoral fin to the other one in front.

The bigger fish are they pacific bluefin and maybe a bigeye?
The yellow pole in the photo with claret is that a ikijimi ?
