Kiwi Kings

The weather has been pretty crappy for summer to be honest and unless you can get out during the weekdays the current weather patterns have meant most weekends have been spent at the pub and not out fishing ?

Luckily I travel a lot for my job ;) and have the ability to tow the boat along sometimes?.. so here are a few Kingi pics from this summer.

All caught on my painted up zest,ag,Williamson jigs

I noticed in some of these pics that you use glow-tube on some of your assist's,. Do you think it makes much difference to your strike rate?

Chris, it is a common thing with the Kiwi Kingie chasers to put lumo tube and small skirts on the assist hooks, it seems to work well for them. I have some made up but not tested. Check out the jigging boat which is quite common .

Interesting concept using small skirts on assist rigs , I imagine it would change the action of most jigs (extra drag & water resistance). I might make some up with lumo skirt & fish em on the bottom for snapper ;D.

Chris its more abrasion resistance from the kingies sandpaper teeth. The less I have to change assist hooks the better and if it glows and attracts fish then thats just an added bonus for me..

got a few more pics to chuck up
glens first kingi and not a bad one at 17kg on a jig

clouds of big kings hanging over some low foul at a place we called the nipple

this was actually caught on a livebait but it is my best capture on 4kgmono to date

Cam and crew hit White Island on 'Good' Fri and it was, biggist was Dave's 30kg Kingie, they also encounted a 300kg Mako :o.

Cam's quote:
"What a choice day at White had a great time hooking up and watching the LiquidFix lad's do the same, we had a big Mako charge us after eating my king and shunt the boat around ,with Brian nearly falling out was awesome sight.I had dib's on his gear if he did go over" ;D ;)

At least someone had good weather.
