Adheks are "quirky" and different... I think it's great that they play to their own rules, it would be a boring old world otherwise...

As I said, all Adhek GT lures have eyes positioned either low or actually on the underside. Two of the most effective GT lures I use regularly are Adhek Penipen and Adhek Venus... both have eyes on the underside.  I think it is good that some lure makers do it a bit differently, and actually have a reason for doing so.

Graham, I think you are quite right and we just don;t know. So it has to be driven by what works. Eyes on the underside definitely do work.

Penipen looks more normal - don't know why.

But as you've all said what do I (we) know - we aren't GTs after all   With poppers I suspect colour is relatively unimportant since the fish are coming from largely underneath and against the light surface/sky most colours are shadows.

Shame, my wife stopped by Adhek's house last week whilst in Bali, If only I had known I could have picked this up with the other lures she did source for me.  Adhek is doing alright, did not have a lot of stock sitting around.

I think Graham summed it up with his comment that we're not GT so what do we know 

IMHI i'm inclined to think that splash and silhouette are the main factors which induce a GT to hit a popper. Horns and eyes on the bottom are likely to appeal more to the angler than the fish.............the same is true when it comes to floats and UK coarse fishing. I own literally hundreds and carry dozens to any competition I enter. I probably use less than 10 over a full season, but you never know when the others might be required ! 

At the end of the day it's down to what you are confident using - if a popper llooks good, is easy to work, and catches fish then what more can you ask ?

  . It's actually a great example of the quirky Balinese sense of humour. As anyone who has met him will attest, Adhek is a very funny man.  You should see some of the custom paint-jobs on his Carpenter rods
