carpenter rod explanation please (ICBM)??

<< < (2/4) > >>

Dmitrii Novgorodtcev:
ICBM really stands for Inter Continental Ballistic Missile. Carpenter uses this mark to show that this particular model is made specially for incredibly long casts. Carpenter started using this mark from 2007 when they made LR-90 ICBM. It was longer version of LR-89 and made new standards of the long cast. To emphasize this it was marked by the abbreviation "ICBM".

"R" stands for "regular taper".

PI stands for "Power 1".

Thanks Dimitri.

Next step would be to understand what "Power 1" actually means?

And any idea what MRF means?  As in Black Current 80MRF.

I thought F maybe = Finesse but there is nothing at all finesse about this rod!

BC80MRF = Black Current 8' Medium Regular taper Finesse .
BC69MHR-SHP = Black Current 6'9" Medium Heavy Regular taper - Super High Power .
And so on .

Now on P1 , I am still trying to decipher the power difference between P1 n P Max , the answer from Japan is less clear than I wish .

Jon .

Hi all,

In accordance with the abbreviation rules of Carpenter BC80MRF must mean:
"M" goes for Medium power level
"RF" goes for Regular Fast taper.

"Finesse" is a characteristic of guide setting. This characteristic goes in the end of the model name in small letters in the  brackets. So, "F" does not mean "finesse" here, because it is capital, not small and not in the brackets. To be "finesse" it must be MR(f).

SHP abbreviation shows that the carbon layer is thicker than usual and the breaking point of such blank is very high withing the class of the blank.
