The search continues "off the beaten track", the way GT fishing should be. Remote beach camps, jagged mountainscapes and the rich tapestry of an isolated culture make for one unforgettable GT experience.

Man that place is so off the beaten path. Amazing scenery and truly memorable fishing.  Must do one day for sure.

what Leader/Leader Connection do you use in Socotra?

Best regards

Nice.  Difficult place to shoot nice video due to only two anglers on the boat and little room to maneuver (have to either sacrifice the photos or helping the guy land the fish).  Glad to see you were able to at least capture one fight start to finish.

Hi Stephan,

I run a variety, however, to put max pressure on a fish in a boat that is extremely unforgivable - I used a 1.8m / 150lb Twisted section with 0.8m 400lb Shock Leader.

Stephan,
The terrain in Socotra is unforgivable, shallow reefs harsh terrain and a lot of bummy's, I personally use 130lb Hollow line attached to 220lb twisty with a 300lb bite leader :)
Hold on and wish for the best   ;)
