JM 25000 spool mono cap

Anyone know how much 37kg mono one of these spools would hold? Maybe anyone that uses them for trolling/casting for marlin?

Bit odd but I fish IGFA 37kg mono livebaiting for kings in heavy structure and am keen to try a spin reel for something different. Not overly keen on a new 30,000 Stella as I would like the reel to double for jigging with braid offshore.

I cant quite answer your question but i can tell you what i have on the off chance it gets you somewhere towards your goal.

I bought one of these for the missus so she could use my 20k when we're out chasing table fish... Saved buying her a Stella of her own    I spooled with 24kg mono backing -450m, plus 475m of 50lb Fins braid over the top.

Thanks for the reply, seems like a fair bit! 30,000 line cap is supposed to be 600m 24kg, at a punt a 25,000 should be at least equal to a Tiagra 30a?

I have that spool (Jigging Master JM 25000 Monster Drag Spool) loaded with braid. It has a capacity of PE6 / 600 m, PE8 / 420 m, PE10 / 360 m.

Momoi’s Hi-Catch line, 80 lb / 37 kg IGFA rated has a diameter of 0.91 mm, which makes it more than PE28 (0.870 mm).

I can't see how you could get more than about 200 m of 37 kg mono on that spool, and that might be overstating it.
