I wish the seas are flat like that here in Sydney !.

Glad to know you will be fishing in Indonesia. Indonesia has 17.000 islands, sea up to 7000m, major intercontinental sea current path, big fish migratory path. We have world's rarest fish, we have Colelacanth (the only 2 place besides Comoro Islands), Oarfish (one report here, Regalecus is caught by jigging in Indonesia).
Many big GT and dogtooth tuna spot. From where you are, the nearest is to go to Derawan islands, Maratua island, try GT popping at Biduk-biduk, to the eastern side of Maratua atol and eastern side of big atol below maratua (karang gosungan, karang muaras)
