Hi all,
If you were heading out for a trip, what would you consider your gun lure and wouldnt leave home without it ?

GT trip? Black Jack Cubera.
Light tackle trip? Dorado Slider 14.
And not the first choice many places, but an ever-reliable essential, 5/0 white leadhead jig.
Typical tackle rat, gets told to choose one lure and can't get below three.

Yeah, I have more than one as well....I havent chased big GTs , but with kings I reckon sluggos have been my fav. But this morning tried the orion bigfoot and had quite a few follows so it may end up being my gun lure soon.
Ps Luke the Precision rod works well.Nailed my first king on it this morning....fish had no hope of getting away.

Stickbait - Orion Bigfoot and Heru Wahoo
Popper - Fisherman Krog and Carpenter Sea Frog. The Cubera Hal refers to is also terrific

I don't think I am familiar with the mura mura lures. Can someone give me a bit more info about them?

Brandon,
I tried the a mano yesterday...pretty good. I might get the next size down though to make it easier to cast...Has potential for me !

Thanks Andrew, for somebody learning popping jargon and names the 'Amano' instead of 'a mano' and a pic helps a lot.
Off to the Mooloolaba river again to practice Popper casting.

it looks pretty good in the water, doesn't it? That said, it'd need to be a good king to go a lure that size so maybe the smaller size will work better for you.
Greg, wait till you get into the Japanese lures and then you'll be into S-Pops, Tamagos, E cups (the mind boggles), Diablos etc
