got recommended a Stella 10000 sw to do some popping with and to load it with 80lb line.
cant find anywhere how much line it can hold but these figures

cheers travis

Hi Travis,

It depends on the line you use. I have a 10000 Stella spooled with 80lb Jerry Brown hollow braid and wound on very tight (essential) it took well over 200yds. Since it comes in 300yd spools - no problem! If you go for Tuf Line XP or Power Pro you will get even more on at 80 test.

Cheers

Colin

Hi Travis. Agree with Colin. I have almost 250 metres of 80lb Power Pro on mine. Plenty for whatever GT is swimming out there.

If you're talking about the brand new SW 10000, I suggest you go back and tell them you want an 18000 for GT fishing. The new 10000 is alot smaller than the previous model. The new 10000 is based on the 8000 body with larger spool and rotor but still not sufficient for 80lb braid and GT fishing. If its the older 10000 then you're find. Like everyone have said it varies with different brands.

I think the STL10kSW is more than fine for 80lb work - just need to match it to suitable balanced rod. Have used it, have caught fish with it - more than capable of handling 80lb.

A bit unbalanced [lite] on the GT-special though, which is the rod Travis is putting it on. :)

My bad on the rod  ;D....yes, unbalanced on the TCurve. But the STL10SW is still capable of fishing 80lb. However, follow Hon-su's advice if you want to stick with the TCurve.
