At the boat side second before breaking and you can see the leader wrapped up on the mates hand!

The reason of my respect to all Japanese anglers!!! Cato -san in tears after his long fight, the tears of joy!!

I suggest you send Sami an email regarding SOM. He's a sponsor, too.

Super stuff again Sami. Nice T shirt there :-). Also like the Assist set up on the sticks. Think I can try this for the GTs?

Jeen, some anglers have long been using assists off the front for GT fishing, even with chuggers.

Reading back over Sami's recent trip reports it seems that the specific concern with this fishery was the belly treble damaging the tuna.

Thanks Harris. Yes I was just wondering .we have also seen the Assist set up on poppers as early as 2007  in the andamans by Adrian and others.
I wanted a feed back from Samy since he recently fished southern Oman and i did not see an assist set up on his lures there.

Also its difficult, at least for me, to experiment on new set ups when you already have something that works. But yet I always went through a few moments of near panic trying to de hook a treble from a GT,s mouth to effect a quick release.

What I am looking for is an assurance from veteran GT  anglers to tell me "yes this works" and thereby relieve my paranoia of loosing a gt after hard work . ;)

Sorry to be a pain in the butt with all my questions but i would like to know what your opinion is on the difference in fighting power of the yellowfin tuna and bluefin tuna. Pound for pound what fish would you say put up a better fight...?

And on the photos. I must say that picture of you hooked up on a fish where you are turn side on looking at Sano-san about to be hooked up by the looks of it. Would have to be the best action shot i have ever seen it gives you a real sense for being there in the midst of the action. Its a Classic shot

Cheers Rob

Hi Rob,
It is a difficult question as both species have my respect , i had fought both of them and found more power in the Bluefin tuna then the Yellowfin tuna,
we gained so much knowledge and experience in the past few years that put us on the lead of what we love to do the most!
thank you for the kind words :)
