Geez Michael.........top notch shoot there bud and beautiful place indeed. Mate, there sure was bruised and battered action with the anglers, good work out on the tackle too. Boy, that popper fizzing lossely out of the water past that anglers ear  :o could of been nasty. I think saw another angler with what seemed a nasty arm cut injuiry with alot of claret, hope it wasn't to bad.

Nice healthy GT's caught......well done and congrats  :).

Tight Lines !.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for that.  Yeah that was my arm i got the hook in.  No serious damage done, 12 stitches and it put me behind the camera for the last 3 days.

Great trip and great people.

Well done Michael!  Very well put together video.

Another interesting destination that JDM Tackle/Monster Fish has unearthed.

Hi Michael,
Great video.
I am fishing Gambier in 2 weeks and have been to Eiao/Nuku Hiva 2 times.
From your video I can see that it is so much different from Eiao, pure heaven as Teddy said

That's awesome! What sort of camera do you use for your video footage?

Thanks guys!

The cameras used were gopro3, nikon dslr and a panasonic gx1 (mirror less). I had heaps of other footage from ions but i wanted to use as clear footage as i could.

The angler with the napoleon wrasse was me unfortunately!

As i was changing its position for the photo it kicked out of my arms and got the 6/0 gt recorder in my arm and the weight of the fish made the hook tear downwards..  Raced in and 12 stitches later it all good.  I was lucky it never hit any main arterys or nerves!

But if it wasn't for the hook in the arm then i wouldn't have got all of the fishing action and surface strikes on camera that i did!

Its healed up well Cameron :)

of the 3 cameras, which one took the best video?  there's one part where the image is so damn clear!  was wondering if that's go-pro or DSLR... the image, i'm referring to can be seen below.... thanks in advance!
