David, this is what I did for the FG but in a different way, without the tube, can be seen on the first 2 pictures and the last picture is the knot at the end   after tightening.
In my case  I find that this finish of the knot  is not strong in time, it becomes soft, some fishermen put a little glue to avoid this, I do not like at all, but of course everyone is doing well as he wishes   

I have perhaps made progress in English but it is more tiring than fishing a GT of 50k with a  popper Ah! Ah!

David, from your photo it looks like the FG knot wraps are not tightened?

Yes it is not tightened for the purpose of taking photos
In real, I tightened every 3 wraps, better when the leader is a bit deformed by the braid, ensuring the wraps won't slip
