Braid...
December 04, 2008, 09:49:37 AM
Got myself a dogfight. Now the decision as to what braid to run on it. Will be using it on a Smiths 80p or Zenaq Foorketo 83 -5.

Thinking of Diawa accu depth in 60lb or 80lb.?

What do others use and recommend ?

Well it dep,s on your budget .

if you want to buy cheap good braid line then go for the tuff line .

if you not mind the cost are then go for the varivas gt line .

or the varivas gt smp pe6 which it will break at 90lb . so you would get a long cast on this line .

i used to have the daiwa braid line before but i end up change all my line  ;D

cheer,s mick

Don't use coloured jigging braid for casting, I've heard bad things about it. The Varivas line is very good to cast with, be wary of the SMP though as it has a tendancy to get wind knots.

I use sunline deep one in 130lb and i have never had problems with it at all and every 10meters is another colour..Deep one is very well priced and very high in strength..highly recomended mate as its breaking strain is higher than its sez on the box..

otherwise varivas is the best stuff goin if you dont mind spending a bit!!

joey
there is nothing wrong with the daiwa colour line but most colour line is for jigging.

the reason why i changed cos they not make 130lb  cos daiwa only go,s up to  80lb . that is why changed my line and end up with the varivas line . they are great to cast with .

i still do have the colour line which it is not daiwa brand . it,s from japen not know the name due to the japen writing  ;D. which i have 60lb , 100lb and 120lb .

there is lot of different braid line with different breaking strain .

One would find it difficult to find any information from any dialect/language from "Japen"... ;)

it's easy to recommend what is just about the best and most expensive line you can buy -  is one of you actually going to tell Joey how much a spool of Varivas is?!
If it swims; I want to catch it!
