Glanville:- Wow where to start....what an awesome day, the weather gods clearly shone upon us today, we woke up this morning to an absolute glass off not a breath of wind. We headed out fishing and started the day off even better, 2nd cast for the morning and one of the lures was sucked down by a GT only 100m from the mothership, it only got better...we had some good fun in the morning on the change of the tide with some light tackle jigging catching some big goldspot and the odd mackerel. At lunch we already had 6 Gts in the boat had lost a 40kg fish and a mixed bag of fish on the light gear, after having a very peaceful sit down lunch on a sand kay we decided to head back out. The afternoon started even better and things really heated up it wasn't long before we had a double hook up, the amount of fusilers that were around today was just unbelievable and the mix of fish getting amongst them was very interesting we were getting follows from fish every cast, goldspot, mackerel, GTs, sharks the ocean was just alive and it seemed that there wasn't a minute in the day when we weren't seeing something. Later on we moved to a new section of reef and I think we found the GT gathering area, we stopped at a tiny but terrified shoal of fusies and the game was on 3 lures went out which resulted in lots of shouting 3 small surface explosions and triple bending was the call, no sooner had we got the first fish in the boat quick couple of pics and no time for resting as the next cast was made, the second the lure hit the water it seemed to disappear into a frothing mess of GTs backs, this time the whole pack came up and had a go there was a mass of GTs fighting each other to get the lure we had 3 crazy takes with the fish getting half their body out the water, we finally had a solid hook up, the action didn't end there after this carnage the second fish was ready for the leader and once again boated another decent GT took the hooks out and Tony frantically put another cast in and bang another hook up this time a sky rocketing mackerel came to the party, and took Tony's stick bait hostage. The afternoon proved to be very successful and on the way home we squeezed in some time for a little bit of a crazy tuna session where triple hook ups seemed to be the norm, crazy day fishing on a glassy calm ocean....I tell you what if you can show me a better way to spend a day in the sun then surely it can only be in heaven.

Alex- The weather smiled upon us today. Comparing today to last week, I would not have cared if there were no fish in the ocean it was a dream to be out on the water. We got a fish within our first 5 mins of fishing today, a nice start. We then hit some light jigging up again and got busted off about 6 times by some large critters, and sharks getting in on the action. We then hit some more GT spots and they paid off getting another 4 fish in quick succession.
There were heaps of bait around today and most had fish on them. My favourite part of the day was fishing some deep shoals on the outside of the reef, while casting to bait schools in metre and a half glassy calm swell the GTs would hit on the peak of the swell and be completely airborne. To see these jet black angry fish completely out of the water and cart wheeling in the air with poppers in there mouths was unreal to watch. We finished the day with 11 fish and lost many more. A great day and the weather for tomorrow looks the same so watch out fish.
