DJ 83MH

Hi,

Before thinking all your recomendations about carpenter rods, I decided to pay once wiht a good rod and not twice with a bad one and then another time with a good.
I have looked the DJ 83mh. I know its good for gt but do you think it would be too long for figthing 100kg bft? On the other hand it will help me for casting.
 What do you think???

If 8'3" is too long then look at MH80H or MH79XH , these 2 MH models with more modern blank construction should be able to handle 100 kg BFT .

It is hard to imagine anyone being disappointed with this rod. One of my absolute favourites.

Guys, I've deleted a few posts - please remember we're sensitive to members recommending tackle shops, particularly when we have sponsors carrying the same lines.

There is no authorised dealer in the Philippines but if you make a little effort to check out the Carpenter website, you will find the authorised dealers.

if i am not mistaken, Monster Hunter series were designed by new carbon crossing and a new process by using DJ series as a base.

This  may be so but the part of DJ is probably in mandrel used for it , action wise MH80H is a lot more powerfull than DJ83MH and MH79XH is stronger still than MH80H .

I used one of these on a recent trip to Indonesia and it was a fantastic rod for stickbaits to 170g and poppers up to about 140. I only got smaller fish and it was very comfortable to fight for a longer rod. Not good for bigger chuggers but for an all rounder it was amazing.
