Tackle stores in Singapore - Jigs

(1/7) > >>

Ryan Theyer:
Hey guys,

I'm flying back into Singapore from my honeymoon in a few weeks and I was hoping to visit a couple of tackle stores while the missus goes shopping. In particular I want to pick up a few jigs and I am wondering if anyone else has any experiences with any of the tackle stores in Singapore.

If anyone can help me that would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Obviously see the site sponsors: http://www.kaiserproshop.com.sg/ (lots of nice loots!)

There are other stores there: http://www.saberstrokers.com/ (cheap Owner amongst other things)

Anglers Outfitters: http://anglersoutfitter.com.sg (smith)

East Tackle: http://www.eastackle.com/

XT: www.xpeditiontackles.com (no idea, too lazy to populate their website.)

Fishing Buddy: http://www.fishingbuddy.com.sg (jigging master and others)

Hey Ryan

Forum sponsor Kaiser has specialised in offering some pretty special and hard to get jigs. Particular favourites of mine have been the LJ jigs and the XQ range. Both of those are Taiwanese, nice quality, well priced and not at all over-exposed. No idea if Kaiser still carry these, but last year they were shifting a lot of them.

They also carry more obvious Japanese jigs - MG Craft Skill, Seven Seas Hookers, Nature Boys, Fisherman etc.

And also a lot of tiny casting type jigs for the current-less Singapore waters if you need any light stuff.

Definitely worth a visit.

You will enjoy the tackle stores in the Arab District, some are better than others but there are 7 or 8 in a small region.  Check out Lure Haven as well, it is off a small side street near Beach Road.  Lots of good gear in there, very well priced rings and hooks plus heaps of lures and rods.

I saw a crazy long jig in one of the shops for $135, I think it was 400g.... just the length of it had me gobsmacked, after being used to 120 and 150g knife jigs for kingies down at Eden.

Ryan Theyer:
Cheers for the response Guys.

I definatley intend on going to Kaiser as I have heard that they have a lot of gear well priced.

Sounds like I had better head over to the Arab district as well and check them out. I just find it interesting to see what gear is out there as where I live theres only 2 tackle shops and they seem to think that the only jigs on the market are made by williamson!!!

Thanks again.

Ryan
