SJ41 Vs SJ43
Mark Harris:
Thanks for that Brandon.
On the old Nomad website, there was a popper rigging video where Jobus were being used as singles without assist cords. Cannot find that video on the new website. I guess it was very old and things have changed at Nomad.
With such a long shank, a Jobu on an assist cord looks very strange to me! That might just be my jigging background coming through (long shanks = bad jigging rig in my opinion) though :). I know others think differently and the massive long shanked Decoy singles are thought by some to be the best jigging hooks.

Mark - Here is a link to their website where they show you what combinations they recommend for their lures:

SJ41 are imo better suted to baker rigged on most poppers,
SJ43 has a longer shank that can get hung up on the lure
Dmitrii Novgorodtcev:
Yeh, i would also use short shaft hooks for baker rig, though I do not often use singles... As for long shafted hook, they do good in rear....

X 2 Chris,
I use SJ41's on both poppers and stickbaits, mostly 11/0 size.
Remember you want hook exposure not length, so if you go to hooks with longer shanks check your tail hook won't foul with those on the belly.
