Stella 8000 and matching rod

<< < (3/3)

Andrew Poulos:
I had a feeling when I picked up this reel it was going to get me into more trouble  ;).Seems like its sold out at the moment from where I have looked, but at the price I would have to wait a while anyway before purchasing. The other alternative I was looking at was a hastings URS86H built up with low riders and the good gear at about $650.
Length: 8' 6".
Action: Moderate - Fast.
Rating: 10 -15kg.
Pieces: 1.
Lure Weight: 28 - 140grams.

Mick Cunningham:
how about this rod ??

As for a lighter popping rod, the Hots Tide Lez 78MH is fantastic, PE4-6 rating but I recon its a true to stiff PE6.  It's really got balls, in fact a 50kg GT was landed in the Maldives with this rod.  this rod is, mainly reserved for big tuna, but also for GT's etc in more open water where you can get away with PE6.

i am think about getting this rod  ::) ::)

but carpenter mmmm yeah i like them but hard to get them . you better hurry cos they not last long . other wise you will end up on a waiting list .

Andrew Poulos:
Hmm, I will wait a bit longer till Sydney weather warms up to get out off the rocks and try the stella on the 80TN for now. Had a play with it and it feels balanced , the main reason for looking at other rods was for abit of extra length . Then I can move the catalina to another rod cheaper than the tuna sticks. Maybe a loomis pro blue.

cheers
